Masking laparoscopic video

The internship was on HUGO RAS. One thread was automated masking of laparoscopic video — decide, in the stream, what should stay in the frame. The other was real-time arm tracking and collision avoidance. Latency is a safety property in that room, not a dashboard metric.

The work went into a US patent application with Medtronic. Report and letter of recommendation are below.
